Editorial Guidelines

These editorial guidelines will be upheld for content produced after 26/02/2025. We are working on refreshing our old content to conform to these guidelines. If you notice anything that doesn’t quite meet the standard, please read our complaints procedure.


At The Property Buying Company, our customers come first. Our number one priority with everything we write and publish on our website is to help guide and inform you on the process of selling your home, whether that is to us, or not. 

Our company was founded to shake up the traditional property market and become the UK’s leading source of property solutions, with a confident and trustworthy approach and excellent customer service. To do that we need to provide clear, fair and content that doesn’t mislead to create that confidence.

We want to ensure that every reader:

  • Can find and read information that is fair and clear. We always ensure that our bias doesn’t impact our content, we regularly state within our articles that we are aware our core cash-buying service isn’t suitable for everyone, and our goal is always to inform the customer of all of their options.

  • The difference between our marketing and editorial content should always be clear and transparent.  

  • Our editorial guidelines are not compromised by expert input or third-party business partnerships.

We work hard to cut through the jargon and general complexities surrounding property to provide clear information and answers to your property queries.

Our vision is to become one of the most successful and trusted providers of fast property sale solutions. We achieve this by using our unique insight, statistics, and experience to enhance our content and make it stand out from the crowd. We have access to years of property data that we’ve been gathering and collating, several industry-leading property tools, and expert contributions from within our experienced team.

We pride ourselves on collaborating within our team to communicate effectively and bring knowledge to the forefront, our website, our shop window, if you like. We aim to take our customers' complications away, delivering a high-quality, honest and transparent service, this compassion is reflected within our content. Our Sourcing & Linking Policy

Whenever we use external information we will always provide attribution, whether that be in terms of a link or citing the source, it’s a standard practice of ours within our content. When sourcing information we will always do our best to ensure that the content is accurate, and presented in a proper context, from a trustworthy source. 

External links are never paid or built as part of a business relationship, they are primarily used as a resource to enhance the article from the reader's perspective. 

Accuracy & balance: It’s the responsibility of our team, and authors, to be accurate and honest. We rely on their professional experience and judgement to help our readers understand the subject.  

Fact-checking & editing: Once a team member has written a piece of content, before it is published on our site it will often by reviewed by two members of staff. One general review of the structure, and on-page elements, and another by an expert in the field the subject matter relates to.

Quotations, Interviews & Expert Opinions

From time to time in our articles, you may come across external quotations, interviews and expert opinions, all to enhance the content. These additions to our article are in no way incentivised and we do not accept payment for placement(s) either with advertisements, mentions or external links. 

Whenever we publish an interview, comment or expert opinion to provide advice and context within an article we will always check that their background and qualifications are suitable and trustworthy.
