Jonathan is one of the founders and CEO’s of The Property Buying Company. He set up the company back in 2012 with his best friend and co-CEO Karl McArdle with a vision of becoming the largest quick house buying company in the industry and taking the service into the main stream.
From the start Jonathan’s vision has been to make The Property Buying Company the UK’s leading property solutions company but maintain the core values of a honest, transparent and great customer experience as a priority.
Since it’s inception, The Property Buying Company has spent over £180,000,000 on property purchases and facilitated over 3,000 sales through various arms of the business, making it the market leader in the quick house buy sector in the UK.
That’s a question, it’s been a while that’s for sure! I’ve worked in the property industry since 2006 after switching from car sales, I quickly took to it after joining a friends business. I worked my way up and soon became a senior manager at this company, which is where I met my now business partner.
Aside from that I’ve also managed over the years to build a significant personal property portfolio, and owned a number of property investment companies through the years.
I’m one of the CEO’s here at The Property Buying Company and I’m responsible for heading up the investor arm of the business, The Property Sourcing Company. I also oversee the underwriting and acquisition departments of the company.
Well I would like to think so as CEO!
As for my day to day role in overseeing The Property Sourcing Company, Underwriting and Acquisition my input and strategic view for each department is essential to our operations. I regularly get involved in the day to day work within these areas, providing feedback when needed and trying to identify areas that we can improve our customer experience.
I’ve got to say there are been a few really fantastic moments throughout the years which have made me extremely proud. A nostalgic one looking back has to be agreeing our very first deal all the way back in June 2012, it was a really special moment.
Another milestone would be moving into our new office in 2019, it may not seem like a lot but it was a big step up for the company and it really showed how far we had come in terms of team size and company turnover.
I know this might be a lot of people’s answer, but it would have to be the COVID-19 crisis. Navigating the company through a time of such uncertainty and unknown, especially with the property market completely shutting down.
Throughout this time we managed to retain all employees in the business with no redundancies made which is something I’m really proud of.
Well, I don’t get that much time for hobbies as I am a proud father of 3 beautiful girls, which takes up most of my down time! Aside from that though, I do love just going on long walks and generally keeping fit through running or going to the gym.
Approachable, reliable and fair.
